Kala's KA-KCGE-C Concert gives you deep, rich ukelele tone that's visually complemented by the rich hues of the instrument's koa top, back, and sides. Harvested on the Big Island of Hawaii, the hand-selected koa used in this instrument is a classic and sought-after tonewood. If you're a guitarist, this gorgeous uke is a natural for layering on top of acoustics in your recordings. And when you take the stage, the active electronics give you total control over your sound. Want an instrument that's ideal in the studio, onstage, at home - or on the beach?

Why do some of the used instruments have a “used” stamp on the back of the headstock?

This step is a long-standing agreement we have had with some of our manufacturing partners taken to protect their interests and to prevent the filing of improper warranty claims.  For many consumers, the “used” stamp is recognized as a sign of quality, giving confidence that an instrument originating from MIRC has been properly set-up and refurbished by a professional tech.

The Concert Uke: many players consider it to be the perfect size

The concert ukulele - one size larger than the original soprano - was introduced in the 1920s as an "enhanced" soprano, sporting a louder, deeper tone with more body and richness. You'll find - much to your delight - that the Kala KA-KCGE-C Concert uke gives you impressive volume for its diminutive size, along with deliciously warm and clear ukulele tone.

From Kala - the Uke company

Kala is all about Uke. The company lives and breathes ukes - ukes are all they make, and they make them exceedingly well. In fact, Kala is in no small part responsible for the strong resurgence of interest in the uke we've seen since the mid 1990s. They design and manufacture over 120 different models made from a variety of woods, including lacewood, koa, mango, mahogany, flame/spalted maple, spruce, bocote, and, and the classic spruce top/rosewood back and sides combo.
