The Kala KA-KCG Hawaiian Koa Concert Ukulele stands as the Big Kahuna of one of the company's premium series by bringing together rich sound and coveted appointments. Crafted with hand-chosen Hawaiian-grown koa in the top, sides, and back for an authentic Hawaiian sound, the striking body is matched with a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard for ease of playing in addition to tone. Not one to skimp on the high-end features, the KA-KCG's Mother-of-Pearl headstock inlay and high gloss finish make this as beautiful to look at as it is to hear.

Why do some of the used instruments have a “used” stamp on the back of the headstock?

This step is a long-standing agreement we have had with some of our manufacturing partners taken to protect their interests and to prevent the filing of improper warranty claims.  For many consumers, the “used” stamp is recognized as a sign of quality, giving confidence that an instrument originating from MIRC has been properly set-up and refurbished by a professional tech.

The Concert Uke: many players consider it to be the perfect size

The concert ukulele - one size larger than the original soprano - was introduced in the 1920s as an "enhanced" soprano, sporting a louder, deeper tone with more body and richness. You'll find - much to your delight - that the Kala KA-KCG-C Concert uke gives you impressive volume for its diminutive size, along with deliciously warm and clear ukulele tone.

From Kala - the Uke company

Kala is all about Uke. The company lives and breathes ukes - ukes are all they make, and they make them exceedingly well. In fact, Kala is in no small part responsible for the strong resurgence of interest in the uke we've seen since the mid 1990s. They design and manufacture over 120 different models made from a variety of woods, including lacewood, koa, mango, mahogany, flame/spalted maple, spruce, bocote, and, and the classic spruce top/rosewood back and sides combo.
